H-Net

I've been a member of H-Net for several years; for historians, H-Net is the *ultimate* resource for hearing about news in the field - calls for papers, calls for proposals, conferences, etc.

H-Net is primarily a collection of e-mail listservs organized around different subjects. Through these listservs, you can network with other professionals interested in those subjects.

I never mentioned H-Net here before, but I did find out this week that they have a couple of listservs that might be of interest to non-historians - and a good deal of them might be of use to social scientists.

Here are some of the lists that might be of interest more generally:

H-EDTECH (Educational Technology)
H-DIGIRHET (Digital Rhetoric)

At the main H-Net website, you can look over the types of lists they offer, or review their announcements page to see if there's anything of interest to you (for example, there are often a good deal of English field announcements).
